We have received a number of queries regarding sizing and buying online.  Below are some answers to your queries.

  • How would I measure myself?

First of you will need a fabric tape measure as that will be the easiest way to measure your body. I would recommend getting your best friend, family member or partner to help as most of us don’t have eyes at the back of our head.

For your chest: Measure the circumference of your chest.  Place one end of the tape measure at the fullest part of your bust, wrap it around (under your armpits, around your shoulder blades, and back to the front) to get the measurement

For your waist: Measure the circumference of your waist. Use the tape to circle your waist (sort of like a belt would) at your natural waistline, which is located above your belly button and below your rib cage. (If you bend to the side, the crease that forms is your natural waistline.) Don’t suck in your stomach, or you’ll get a false measurement. If you generally wear your clothes below your waist, take that measurement as well

Length of a dress: Measure from the top of your shoulders down to see where the hem of the dress will sit.

  • What if the clothes you receive do not fit?

We probably have all bought something online and it just doesn’t fit right. However, there are a few ways to help you find the right size.  I always measure myself using a tape measure as almost all clothes even if they say for example a 12 on them or a letter, depending on the brand, they do not all fit the same.  There is no real standard sizing anymore so the best way to check if something fits is to follow the measurements.  Checking the information section at the end of the descriptions also gives you a better idea of what the true item will look like.

We do provide exchanges for sizes if they do not fit.  If you purchased through paypal you can claim back the return shipping.  Paypal covers return shipping up to 8 times a year.

  • What if the clothes you received does not look like the product image or you just don’t like it?

We do offer a 30 day no questions asked money back guarantee. So if it is unsuitable simply go to our return page.

Hello Amanda,

Our size charts are measured by us to ensure accuracy and to account for any deviations from the pattern. Best advice is to go for a size that caters to your largest dimension/measurement. You can always exchange if not a perfect fit and slightly large can be pulled in with a belt in the waist or altered. Too small can’t. :-)

My bust is 93 and my waist s90 ish.
I am confused by the sizes – I fit a 14 usually.
Last online purchase was a disaster and I was swimming in it.
Do you have a shop in Sydney to try on? or market stall?
I live in Hurstville

G’Day Christine,

We don’t have a shop anymore or do markets (little ones make it hard). Our sizing charts are very accurate. If you drop us a message at customerservice@number9fashion.com and let us know which dress that you want we can help you pick the perfect size!
