Simple Elegance
I am excited to share with you all today a new design from Number 9 Fashion, the Scalloped Neckline Dress. This beautiful dress comes in three prints, the teal polka dot, the white poppy print, and the the black floral print.
This dress fits true to size for the Number 9 Fashion range, I got my usual size large (I have a 40 inch bust, 30 inch waist) and it fits perfectly. The fabric is medium-weight with a slight stretch, which is perfect for a comfortable fit on top (no cutting in under my armpits!). The skirt sits just below my knees (Iβm 5β1β) and easily accommodates my petticoats.
I love the elegance of this dress, the scalloping is a beautiful but simple detail that elevates it above other similar designs. The neckline is really flattering but is still modest enough to be worn in more formal settings. I have a short torso so I usually have an issue with the neckline being too low but I was able to go through a day of work without having to hoist it up or readjust. Overall this is just a really beautiful, comfortable dress.
These dresses are perfect from spring, and I will be styling each print differently to show the versatility of the design.
The poppy print is so beautiful with the rich red of the flowers contrasting with the white background. I love the little branch details and the butterflies that add depth to the print without making it look too busy. There are so many beautiful colours to work with but I loved dressing it up by pairing it with a black faux fur stole and kelly green heels. I think it would also look beautiful with red or cobalt blue accessories.
My favourite in the range is the black floral design. This print is so beautiful and the more you look at it the more detail you notice. Itβs like a fairytale forest with with beautiful blooms, butterflies, berries and leaves. Just like the poppy print there are just so many beautiful rich colours to work with on this design. I styled this for work and I loved pairing it with red accessories to really lean into the forest-y vibes of the print. These colours would also work with green, blue, orange and brown accessories.
Polka dots is a classic rockabilly print, that is fun without being too cute. The teal is such a flattering colour that looks amazing on a variety of skin tones. I really liked styling this casually with a contrasting dusty pink cardigan and brown clogs. I think it would also look great with grey or black accessories. It would also be a perfect Christmas party dress when paired with red, silver or gold accessories.Β
Let me know in the comments which is your favourite!
